Collagen is the main structural protein of the dermis and is responsible for its cohesion and firmness. As chronological ageing progresses, the activity of fibroblasts – collagen-producing cells – decreases, leading to reduced collagen synthesis in the skin [2]. The properties of fish-derived VERISOL® collagen peptides were evaluated in independent clinical studies.
SKIN ELASTICITY
A placebo-controlled clinical study involved 76 women of Asian and European origin. Participants consumed 5 g of fish-derived collagen peptides daily or a placebo, while skin elasticity and the volume of wrinkles around the eyes were measured at the beginning of the study, after 4 and 8 weeks of supplementation and additionally 4 weeks after supplementation ended. After just 4 weeks, a statistically significant improvement in skin elasticity was observed compared with the placebo group (p<0.05), and the effect persisted both after 8 weeks and after supplementation ended [3]. Improvement was observed in participants of both Asian and European origin.
WRINKLE REDUCTION
The same study also recorded a statistically significant reduction in the volume of wrinkles around the eyes – after 8 weeks of supplementation, it was 15% compared with the baseline value, and the effect was also confirmed after the supplementation period ended [3].
The study used 5 g of VERISOL® collagen peptides daily. One serving of COLLAROSE FISH provides twice the amount of VERISOL® peptides.
VITAMIN C AND BIOTIN FOR BEAUTY
