ALLNUTRITION SODIUM BUTYRATE SR is food for special medical purposes in the form of prolonged-release capsules that are a source of butyric acid, which is the basic energy material for the gastrointestinal epithelium.

The product is intended for dietary management in irritable bowel syndrome, gut flora disorders and intestinal infections, inflammatory diseases of the intestinal mucosa, functional gastrointestinal disorders (chronic constipation, bloating and abdominal pain, diarrhoea, indigestion).

A daily serving provides 600 mg of butyric acid which has anti-inflammatory properties and supports the functioning of the digestive system.

ROLE OF BUTYRIC ACID

The main function of butyric acid is based on its anti-inflammatory effects, which result from its ability to inhibit the secretion of inflammatory mediators in the intestinal mucosa. Additionally, butyric acid is the main energy source for cells in the large intestine (colonocytes), nourishing them and ensuring proper functioning.
