Beta alanine is an organic chemical compound from the group of amino acids. It is a powerful precursor of carnosine, which buffers the drop in pH associated with the formation of lactic acid in muscles during exercise. For this reason it is an excellent post-workout supplement, influencing regeneration, reducing physical fatigue and having an anti-catabolic effect.
Beta alanine not only has a huge impact on the reconstruction of damaged muscle tissue, but it also nourishes muscle tissue and increases the contractility of muscle fibres, allowing them to work at a higher intensity, which results in the lengthening and intensification of training. As a result, beta-alanine not only helps reduce catabolism and improve the anabolism of muscle mass, but it also improves efficiency during the training itself, which makes it an ideal supplement during the period of building strength and muscle tissue.
Taurine is a non-protein amino acid containing sulphur with a specific physiological role. It is abundantly present in animal and human tissues, mainly in skeletal muscle, brain and heart. The human body has the ability to synthesise this compound from other amino acids (methionine and cysteine), but some sources suggest that endogenous synthesis may not fully cover the demand for this amino acid. Taurine influences the level of calcium in cells, is responsible for osmoregulation (regulation of the level and concentration of electrolytes and organic acids, water-electrolyte balance), and acts as a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator. It has an antioxidant effect. It also participates in the synthesis of bile acids, thus indirectly influencing food digestion.
